Calling all foodies..

I’ve always loved food. I grew up in a family where great food was the centerpiece of our home. I mean, I’m Sicilian and Portuguese.. how could I not?

Nothing delighted my mom and grandma more than Sunday dinner. The whole day would be spent preparing an absolute delicious feast for our full house.

As I got older, I started traveling, searching for the world’s best eats. Discovering local delicacies and hidden cafes, giving a glimpse into the culture of the area.

Did I foodie it up maybe a little too hard.. Maybe 😑. I fell into the routine of trying to eat super healthy during the weekdays and then going ham (pun intended) from Thursday-Sunday.

Looking back, I thought really delicious food and a strong lean body could never exist together.

I am so thankful for my macro journey, because it allows me to eat incredibly delicious food while feeling confident in my own skin. I can fully express myself in the kitchen and explore the strangest of culinary scenes without feeling deprived or guilty.

I chalk up my previous dieting failures to the fact that my love of food and freedom to follow my intuition were just too important to give up. Bye steamed broccoli, hello roasted pancetta with brussel sprouts.

My deep rooted love of food is a bonus – learning what’s in the food I love, and beginning to intuitively craft my meals at excite and satisfy my body and mind. Staying energized, strong, and just as enthusiastic about food as ever is a #blessing (sorry I had to!)

I will never change my foodie ways and I hope you don’t either.
