Meet Coach Kristen!!

Hi! I’m Kristen Craft! I’m a 35 year-old mom to two little girls. I’ve lived in Nashville now for about 8 years with my husband, girls, and golden retriever.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved nutrition, fitness, and holistic wellness. After playing a semester of volleyball in college, I decided to switch gears and go into nursing. When I graduated nursing school, I realized how important nutrition was to overall health and how little we learned about it in school. I started taking different certification courses in both nutrition and exercise. You can still always find me with a nutrition book, podcast, or audible book—the nerd in me just loves to continue learning about it and how it ties into health and wellness.

When it comes to food, I’ve tried a lot of different things. I’ve done Slim Fast drinks in college, toyed with being a vegetarian for a few months, did a few Whole 30 rounds, and even some juice cleanses. While I was slowly learning about what foods made me feel good and what didn’t (I’m looking at you, juice cleanses), I had no clue how much to eat. It never crossed my mind that some of the hormonal and sleep issues I was dealing with could be a result of not eating enough of the right foods. I kept eliminating different foods out of my diet thinking it must be the dairy, gluten, or some other ingredient.

Fast forward a few years to when I found macros and wow, did I do it all wrong at first. My numbers were super low, I was hangry daily, and gave up after about 2 weeks. I actually remember skipping broccoli with dinner one night because I didn’t have room for it in my numbers and reached for a protein shake instead. It hit me how backwards this was, and I called it quits after that.

When I finally tried it again and used higher numbers, my world changed. I wasn’t hungry anymore, I was sleeping great at night, and was hitting my numbers daily because they were realistic for me to stick to. I started seeing changes in my body that I never had before in all my years of working out.

I never thought I would do macro and nutrition coaching for a living until I graduated NP school in 2020. I was feeling super defeated seeing patient after patient come in with endless chronic health diseases.

Nutrition was rarely a topic discussed with them and if it was, it was something along the lines of, “eat less fried food.” Why was no one talking about this huge factor in health? Every appointment felt rushed and like we were skipping over such a huge part of health.

When I found the Habyt, I finally felt like I found my missing piece of the puzzle. Not only could I help women reach their goals through nutrition, but I also got the chance to connect 1:1 with them. Now, I can really get to know my clients, learn their preferences, and work with them to make changes that support their goals.

I love working with such a strong team of women and clients who keep putting in the work. I love seeing women not only achieve weight loss, but gain confidence, improve health, and show up for themselves.
