I lost weight eating a bunch of Chick-fil-a.

Heather from The Habyt here and good lord do I have something to tell you today. I’ve been dieting since I was 5. Literally when I was a kid my mom would take away my fruit roll up and send me with a salad for lunch on pizza day. I was the girl who begged her friends for leftovers because the discarded crust of their PB&J was better than my bag of baby carrots. It’s safe to say I learned from a pretty young age that fast food was seriously off limits, because we had “fat genes." I honestly thought if I even considered entering a Burger King, I’d grow a third limb.

Now, 20 years later, after all of this deprivation, you’re telling me I can eat fast food all week and still lose weight?!

That’s right ladies. Habyt girl, Katie Kellogg comes to us with the Holy Grail of news.  YOU CAN EAT FAST FOOD AND LOSE WEIGHT! 12.3 pounds and 2.25 inches to be exact — in just 90 days. So what’s the catch??  There is no catch.  Katie joined our 90 day program and kicked its ass! We gave her 3 magic numbers (carbs, protein & fat) and she fit that daily macro goal into her lifestyle. Making fast food = her dream bod.

Katie sells paper for a living (so retro) and travels 3 out of 4 weeks a month.  She’s always on the road and her unpredictable schedule leaves her with some whack meal times. Katie also has a solid lunch time crew on the road, and this crew hits fast food spots because, well, where the heck else do you go in the middle of nowhere? PotBelly and Chick-fil-A are on the short list of favorites. So she thought, “Hey, since my ThinHabit coach says "nothing is off limits" I am so NOT ditching the carbs.”

Instead she tweaked her normal orders just a bit to hit her goals. She still enjoyed chicken nuggets and her fav mediterranean chicken flatbreads at least three times a week.  Katie ate at these chains so often during her program that she had it down to science. Chick-fil-A 12 piece grilled chicken nuggets with a side salad - half packet of dressing. Potbelly Flatbread - immediately cut off extra crust and toss it, extra chicken for protein. These were small sacrifices to be made to avoid being the only weirdo eating a salad in the midwest.

In fact, Katie told us that out of her averaged 35 meals a week and she eats at least 15 of those at a chain/fast food restaurant.

So I found myself asking, what’s the deal Katie? Could this work for me? Is it just these few places that have healthy options because I’m from Jersey and Chick-fil-A isn't even a thing here.  Thankfully, she told me most chains have their macros online! McDonalds is now my go to for an egg white delite or an artisan grilled chicken sammy.

So there you have it girls. There’s this revolutionary diet out there called “flexible dieting” and Katie is proof that it works. You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want as long as it fits within your prescribed numbers. She was looking for a diet that didn’t interrupt her life. She wasn’t a gym girl because after a full day of traveling - whose got time for that?  She wasn’t into other diets because she couldn't fit them into her travel schedule.  She doesn't even really like eating at chains, but it is her easiest option on the road. She heard about this trending thing called macros and decided to give The Habyt a try.  And it was life changing.  So much so that she now does yoga in her hotel room in her smaller sized work out gear!

So thank you, Queen Katie for changing the way I think about dieting.  Is it cool if I call you Queen? The next time my mom serves me a salad, I'll be sure to feed it to my dog (JK, he’s not that desperate either.)   All these years of shunning fast food only to learn that dieting and fast food actually go hand in hand.  Ready to lose 12 pounds while eating Chick-fil-A?  Have your cake and eat it too by booking your free call today.
