HOW TO TRACK ALCOHOL

Since alcohol is not a macronutrient, food labels can get away with claiming their product has 0 across the board. Unfortunately, you cannot just simply scan in the barcode of an alcohol such as a hard seltzer. The calories in alcohol have to be computed to some type of macro in order to track it correctly.

  1. You can track as a carb, a fat or a combination of the both

  2. Take the total amount of calories and divide by 4 (if you want to track as a carb) or divide by 9 (if you want to track as a fat).

  3. To track as both, split the calories, and divide by both 4 and 9.

  4. Use our calculator above!
